April 19, 2013Mark MacKinnon has braved many things in his career as an international journalist, but screw the Israeli helicopters and Japanese radiation poisoning: I bet the greatest threat to his life has been the air in Beijing. Seriously, the guy can barely breathe there.
But it’s been worth it for everybody but Mark’s lungs. Thanks to his five years in Beijing he’s been able to produce incredibly insightful and analytical work about the evolving state of China. Recently, he was invited to discuss the country at Carleton University’s Kesterton Lecture. If you have dishes to wash or walls to paint, give it a listen.
