Sketches of Polly and Shakespeare
January 17, 2011I received a brilliant note from the California artist Ken Christensen about his time in Paris in the 1980s and his admiration for Shakespeare and Company. He sent along a few sketches he made during this time there. I particularly like the one of Polly Magoo’s, the dive bar around the corner from the bookshop where I spent some glorious evenings. The bar has changed locale and been renovated into an anodyne tourist trap, much to the dismay of Ken, myself, and thousands of others.
Three sketches here, but much more on Ken’s website *here*.
